Robert Ricucci Sr 1938-2021
It is with great sadness that the Ricucci Family announces the passing of one of its patriarchs, Robert
Ricucci Sr. Born in New York City, Bob grew up in Chicago, and joined the MSU Football Team in 1955. He played for the Spartans from 1955-1959, including playing on the 1955 National Championship team. He returned to campus in 2007 with teammates to receive the long awaited Champions Rings. Another noteworthy accomplishment, Bob was the MVP in the 1961 Alumni football game, rushing for 217 yards for an alumni team boasting 22 active pros. After MSU, Bob played professionally, with the Dallas Texans and Buffalo Bills.
Bob relocated to California in the mid-70s, initially in the truck sales industry and then finding a home in the electronic security industry. As a 40-Year industry veteran, Robert Ricucci Sr, he built 3 successful businesses in California and maybe a significant impact on electronic security throughout the states. Among many Industry contributions, he pioneered several aspects of Remote Video Monitoring, from 1982 up to today’s solutions, and has been one of the industry leaders in sales and applications for Key Accounts throughout California. In 1998, he joined PSI with his son, Bob Jr., and then the two were founding members of the AST team in July of 2005. He was instrumental in guiding AST’s growth to the fine company it is today.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, son, AST’s CEO Robert Jr, and his three daughters, Danielle, Gina and Andrea. He will be missed by all those he impacted throughout the industry, his community, and his church.
